Various sports require different sizes of game areas for regulation lines and safety. However, Hatz Sports Construction can customize a court to fit in any space you may have and will give you options for what is feasible. Ideal sized game courts with out of bounds areas are:

• Pickleball - 60'x30'(1,800sqft) with game play area being 44'x20'.

• Tennis - 120'x60'(7,200sqft) with game play area being 78'x36' for doubles.

• Basketball - 100'x60'(6,000sqft) with game area being 84'x50' for high school regulation.

• Multi-Sport - 60'x30'(1,800sqft) for pickleball and basketball that gives enough room for full sized pickleball and basketball with full 3-point arc.

• All other sports, please inquire.

There are a few recommended types of bases to install acrylic, hardwood and modular surfacing on. For outdoor acrylic and modular, concrete is preferred. A properly installed concrete base will last many years without the need of much maintenance. For acrylic projects, a post-tension concrete surface is recommended to reduce cracking and unsightly saw cuts. When going the modular route, traditional slabs with saw cuts will save you money. Asphalt is also another option but due to it's nature, is softer and will require repairs sooner, especially if vegetation and tree roots are nearby.

The size and complexity of the project will determine how long it takes to build or resurface a court from start to finish. If a new slab is required for the project, a cure time of 30 days is required before acrylic surfacing can be laid. Less time for modular or hardwood.

If there is an existing court in place and you are looking to resurface it, it can be as little as two days time for pickleball/multi-sport and three to four days for tennis, all depending on temperature and precipitation in the forecast. Components such as basketball hoops, in-ground tennis posts or fencing can add one to two days to a project.
